There’s no longer much space left in my book and so i decided to start typing instead. Today morning we woke up later than usual at about 8+. It was the first time there were so little people in the dorm, so breakfast felt quite empty. Ate the usual bread and kaya. At bout 9am, we headed over to the chicken coop and worked on it once again, and it was super fun! We were working very well as a team and there was nothing that cropped up. (: so it was super enjoyable! I’m a pro when it comes to hammering now :P upon completion we took loads of photos in the coop and sang a lot of Chinese songs together (: it felt so relaxing and shiok!
After all that comfortable slacking (we had barry’s ipod and my laptop as bg music), we went back to dorm to pack our stuffs for the village trip. Then we had lunch and the first team came back from their village. So we caught up a little (i’m so jealous about them having free durians!) then it was their turn to send us off for the trip. By then it was already 2+.
So that starter our bumpy ride towards poli’s house (: there were loads of potholes on the road and shaky bridges, and given the weight of our van i was really surprised that we managed to cross the bridge :P we even had to stop at one of the bridges because it seriously looked super dangerous! But thankfully our driver was super skilled and managed to overcome all obstacles :P we were joking during the trip that we have yet to write our wills :P
By the time we reached there it was already 5+. Introduced ourselves to the hosts and then we were brought out to the jungle in search of a river for us to bathe in. We trekked for about half an hour but we couldn’t find any in the end. Poli explained that it is currently the drought period and so most of the rivers had already dried up. What was left was random dead stagnant water at random places. But the jungle bashing was still super fun because i simply love to trek! :D :D and on our way back we caught a glimpse of super nice sunset on the hill (: (: (: wheeeeeeeee.
So we headed back to poli’s house and decided to prepare dinner. They allowed us to use the kitchen and so the girls (me ying jean cx) decided to cook our own indomie :P the kitchen is super traditional with an old pot and firewood and kerosene lamp! And we even had to use the ladle to lift the lid up :P so when the water finally boiled we placed the mee into the pot and cooked 6 packets :D after it was finally done we then got poli’s help to pour the mee into a big bowl. :D finally cracked an egg into it for added taste :P
With the same process we cooked another 4 packets, but by this time we were much more skilful. So our 4 packets were cooked really fast (: brought all the food out and started eating our super yummy mee!!! :D seriously, it was super shiok. Hahaha.
So after dinner we went out and were impressed by the stars!! The night sky was nothing less than spectacular! :D :D never in my whole life did i ever see such a nice night sky! Stars were cluttered everywhere and there were a lot of shooting stars! Even the 2 who joined us from the orphanage told us that they have never seen so many stars in Nias before either :P so we were really lucky!
After staying there for about an hour (we lied on the carpet grass), we decided to sleep outside under the stars without any shelter! And so we took our sleeping bags out and after looking at the shooting stars we fell asleep. I spotted 12 in total! And it was super pretty (: (: (: it was super bright, reddish and it crossed a super long distance! There were like 2 of them. I was in total awe!! Like omg omg omg.
