After that was lunch time! Ate our last lunch with Mark’s wife and Alvin since they had to catch a flight back to Medan. We had nice food! With some leftover pork from last night’s. After they left, we went back to our dorm, taking a break on this special holiday. Mark left us a game with many puzzles and 3 checkers board. Ended up playing Othello with Ryan and he won me! Angry. I’m actually quite a good Othello player okay! Eeks RJ people are just too smart.
After playing checkers, two of us joined Daniel and Angus with the puzzle game and it was super fun! We were entertained for a full two hours by the 8 puzzles (rather 7, because Ryan solved one right in front of us -___-) by the end of the two hours 3 of the guys solved everything while i still left with 4!!! Angry. It’s super hard can! Just can’t solve. In the end i took an additional hour with loads of frustration and whining in between that made Ryan super shocked -___- hahaha. And in the end i can’t even solve the escape puzzle and eventually Daniel had to explain to me properly before i finally get the logic behind it. Eeeeeks.
After solving the puzzle, was a little too tired so decided to take a nap while the guys go for some football and Liya to the parade ground to rehearse. After napping for about half an hour, i decided to go watch the guys play football like the few of us always do back in June. Brought my camera and my ipod along too. when i reached the football field, i saw yusri and so we sat around and took some photos while the guys played football. Wati and Erni joined in shortly together with Agus. Occasionally some of the kids playing football (only the young kids and mark and the guys were playing because the older guys were all occupied with chores) would come over to the camera for some shots. HOW ADORABLE (:
Decided to join the kids and the guys for some football so i joined Ryan’s team which included Pentrianos, Akhimi, Mark, Iman, Alfin. Think there might be more but i can’t really remember anymore so i guess it doesn’t really matter (: anyway i had quite some fun! Though caused like two goals HAHA. In the end i gave up being a defender and decided to be a goal keeper and i didn’t concede any goals after that! LOL so happy! And very cute Alfin being our very own striker had so many chances but missed repeatedly. Super cute can! But the kids have really good sportsmanship. They play the game just purely for fun so the goals didn’t really matter though they’ll really get high HAHA.
Oh yes, while i was playing the little kids were my photographers. HEH. I have totally no qualms about letting them use my camera this time. Used to be hesitant but i guess now that i have complete trust in them it doesn’t really matter that much to me anymore (: and they even learnt that they needed to put their hands through the strap so in case they drop the cam it’ll still be safe. And they learnt how to view past photos too! impressive. I had little teachers like Erni and Yusri who went around teaching others haha.
After the very fun football game, we went to bathe then went back to the area outside dorm to spend some time with the kids while waiting for the rest to come back from the rehearsal. Dinner was at 8.30pm and we had soup! Nice tomyam soup with pineapples and eggplants (which i don’t eat and happily gave all of mine to Ryan). Wanted to eat less rice at first but cos the soup was too good i added rice in the end. OOPS.
After dinner, we sat around for a while andden the chasing started! I think i started with Merfon first. :P subsequently more and more kids joined in and so did Marvan and Ryan -____- so it was basically that same scene from June. Haha. But i’m quite glad we cut down the running this time. Heh.
Was super tired after that omg. Thankfully immelda came along and told us it was time for devotion. So we went over to the area outside our dorm, did our normal devotion, then played with sparklers! :D poli liya and i just sat at a side singing songs while poli played the guitar. Eventually when everyone was done with sparklers they all joined us with the songs.
Then somehow all of us were sitted around the guitar, all the older and the younger ones, the girls and the boys. And all the light left was just the candle that was used to light up the sparklers earlier. So pretty!
So we were in the mood for some talking and since liya was there, it was easy to get people high. She’s just really amusing! Hahaha. And highly entertaining to watch. She constantly learnt new bahasa Nias from the people around but she would forget them in like less than a minute and she never seems to get the pronunciation right from the first try. Andden she’ll write in her book and laugh for no apparent reason :P :P super funny can! Hehhh. But i’m really glad that there’s her with us. Or else i would probably never have gotten a chance to know the older kids better! (:
Then somehow poli made all of us Singaporeans sing a song to the WHOLE group (which basically was all the kids in the home). Liya sang twinkle twinkle little star (HOW WEIRD I KNOW!), Angus sang amazing grace, Ryan sang Gloria (English version – the kids knew the bahasa version!), Marvan sang Amazing grace again while i sang lingkupiku. Thankfully there’s the lyrics wrote by Charles the last time i came here and back in Singapore i actually made the effort to remember the lyrics. Phew at least it paid off. Thankfully it didn’t turn out so bad. (which reminds me, i haven’t kboxed in ages!!!)
After that we just talked (liya was mainly the entertainer), and about two hours into the night we ended the night with “we wish you a merry Christmas” song (: although it was probably quite some minutes into boxing day :P
Went back into the dorm after that and took a bath. Since it was Christmas night (though not really), but i didn’t exactly want the day to end. So we decided to play bridge while liya start with the puzzles. It was super fun playing bridge! Haven’t played in ages. And it was eggciting to see liya all frustrated over the puzzles. Like what Daniel and Ryan said, she’s my morale booster HAHA.
After some games we decided to HTHT while playing so we started with liya. Eventually we put the cards aside being too tired to think and spinned one of the sampan looking puzzles as our truth and truth (aka HTHT Q&A). So we spent another hour HTHT-ing. Haha. Got to know a little bit more about them!
At about 2 plus 3 we decided we were all too tired and hungry and so we decided to supper with some biscuits, tango and milo while continue with our htht. Finally went to bed at 3plus! Phew.
And the reason why i can still write about the supper even though it was so deep into the night is because i’m writing this on 26th night :P too tired to write reflections last night! :X
