I’m really tired while writing this at 12.30am from the 5 hours of sleep last night :X woke up at usual 8.30am. had breakfast and soon everyone was awake. We decided to recce the place to take photos and do a simple needs assessment to better prepare our actual trip. Some kids and Marvan joined us subsequently and so we happily held hands with them and walked around the whole compound. (: went to check out the laundry shed area, the vegetation, the chicken coop, the van shed, and the place outside the gate.

Poli then told us that we were required to decorate our van and so we headed to the dining area to prepare the decorations. Spent the rest of the morning there cutting the words “MERRY CHRISTMAS” with the guys (liya’s practising as usual) to stick on the van and taking some decorations from the dining area. Blowed some balloons as well. In between we had coconuts! Apparently Marvan went with Dirikan and 2 other guys to climb some trees. Super bojio! We wanted to go to okay! ): angry. OH yes the coconuts were awesome. Shared one with Ryan and the juice was like sweet and cooling! The meat was tender and soft too. YUMS. Daniel’s on the other hand was really tough. Eeks. Haha. But i still koped some of his meat anyway.

After returning back to preparations soon it was time for lunch! Mee Goreng (: it was our last meal with Mark, Marvan, Mirinda, Prof Heng and Timothy for the time being since it was their turn to fly.
After doing the decorations which was about 1.30pm, the 4 of us just lagged around the dining area and it was so comfortable because it was raining heavily outside and the sound of the rain was just soothing. Lied on the floor amongst all the decorations and flags around me and shortly after Ryan joined in. So we just lied there for about another hour plus just lying down and talking.
Slow paced, but really shiok. We were talking about all the good things about the life here. And how well the people here made use of their environment to survive. And many other random things.
At slightly after 3 liya came back with the costume! :D talked a bit with her then we continued to lie around. Eventually at about 3.30pm which was after a short nap andden realising that Angus and Daniel already went back Ryan and i decided to go back to the dorm. It was still raining slightly.
Played more bridge after that then prepared to leave the place for the parade ground at the mayor’s place in Gunung Sitoli. Squeezed into the van with all the small kids then headed for our destination! Waited for a while, grabbed some corner and seats then watched the show. Our kids and liya did well! :D hoho. Then they joined us and we all just continued watching all the performances and listened to the speeches which i couldn’t understand at all, and sang some songs. Then went back by squeezing with even more people in the van. Sat beside Adelina and learnt more new bahasa from her! Hehhh.

By the time we were back in the home it was already 10! Super tiring. Had some indomie that ibu bought at the petrol kiosk for supper (: Nice :D i love indomie! Two things i’m definitely buying back to Singapore: indomie and tango! Hahaha.
After supper, we took out the puzzle game and let the older kids play around. Super funny to see all of them so eggcited and frustrated! And some of them are really good at certain puzzles. You can really see the various strengths of each individual among them just by observing them while they do the puzzles. Really interesting. Yusof and Timotheos are the fastest solvers! And Julius is like really smart. He solved the escape puzzle and all the others seemingly easily! OMG.
Without realising it was already 12 and it was time for us to leave the place. So we passed them the stuff and went back to our dorm. Which explains why i’m here now.
Oh yes, was just told during supper that we are leaving tomorrow afternoon for a 2pm flight back to Medan because there wasn’t any seats on the 28th ): ): ): SO SAD CAN!!! Totally not prepared mentally and physically to leave the place ): OH MY. Wished time would pass slower really ):
This time no letters. No tears. No sad goodbyes. Because i’ll be back and i want to kids to trust in me that i’ll be back for them. This i promise myself. JUNE PLEASE COME SOOOON!
I don’t want tonight to end becaue it would mean we’re leaving tomorrow. These few days have passed by so quickly despite the slow paced life. I think this time i’ve built more bonds than the previous time. Wanna know all the kids better, older or younger. Wanna contribute more this time. There’s so much things i could learn from them, and everyday i just learn more. It’s an amazing feeling. (:
Haven’t did a proper reflection the past few days and i really just wanna write a little more today. But i can’t seem to put them into words. It along the lines of the acceptance of the presence of unconditional love to a completely unrelated human being, the process of learning from every single person in the home, the simple but nevertheless satisfying life. It’s just that i really treasure this place a lot, so much so that i really hope that i can come back here once in a while.
I can’t bear to leave this place tomorrow. SIGH.
