Woke up early in the morning today, the first time in many days! The whole place around us was foggy and pretty! Super shiok. After packing up a bit we drove back to the public toilet area at te kuiti and used the toilets there. Then talked to the person at the visitor’s information counter to ask some questions about the area and bought some postcards! Posted one postcard at the post office nearby and bought another one after.
Drove to the new world supermarket nearby to stock up on more groceries and bought quite a lot of stuff! I bought a pair of gloves and a beanie in preparation for the super cold weather in the south island. A little scared ever since that night :/ can’t risk being too cold!
After that we decided to follow the suggestions of the woman at the info centre and proceeded to a nature reserve near the town which apparently has a trail that leads to a waterfall. And when we finally reached there, it was like a dreamscape! Picnic table, stream, mountains, and greenery! Goshhhh.

And yeahhhh we had our lunch out in the open at the picnic table (: wooooots. Nice scenery with awesome food :D after lunch we packed up a little and decided to start on our walk which supposedly takes 45 mins each way to the waterfall and back, and after trekking for like 1hour we finally saw the waterfall…. Which in herny’s words is more like a waterSLIP haha. Seriously super pathetic! I think it was like the most 4m tall?! And we had to walk so far for it la so wasted.

So after taking a few photos we had to walk back quickly to our campervan since it was getting dark, and thank God we returned within 40 mins. So much faster. We cleaned up ourselves a little since there was quite a lot of mud on the trail andden proceeded to clean the campervan, andden decided to drive back to town in search of water supply.
Amazingly, by going the wrong way, we found a fire station which had a tap that was outside the building! And so jojo and darius went out to ask those friendly firemen whether we could get water from them and they kindly agreed! Omg! Kiwis are seriously super nice and friendly! And so while the three guys were refilling the water, I rushed into the toilet for a good shower :D :D :D haha super shiok to use the water while they’re refilling it! :D and seriously, it was super comfy (:
After refilling the water we stopped by further down to empty the grey water, and it was super convenient since all we had to do is to drive to a drain. And so while it was emptying the guys went to the toilet while I packed the place up a little. After they were back we decided to drive to the caving office area so that we won’t have to wake up very early to drive to the location.
Went all the way to the office, almost couldn’t find our way and a ranger even came to tell us not to stop in the middle of the road o.O at the office, we talked to Paul, who was going to be our guide for tomorrow, and he suggested a campground nearby which we are currently at, free camping (: super lucky la! It’s really close somemore. But too bad our camper couldn’t go up the slope to the large area and so now we’re like at the road side, but not anywhere too close that will put us in danger.
Had our dinner then! Pasta with butter, olive oil, tuna and mushrooms, and Campbell mushroom soup. SUPER AWESOME. Somehow all the meals went really well so far, and I’m really glad that the two of them are such experienced cooks. I think exchange has trained them really well hahaha. We cooked super a lot but as usual, we finished them all. I’m seriously quite amazed.

And now it’s time to sleep! 12.20am. gotta wake up early tomorrow for some caving! Really scary but really eggcited! :D
