havent been updating proper since hocc ended, which was like 9 days ago! :/ and it's been really eventful thus far so i shall spend some time updating.

HOCC aka hall olympiad closing ceremony! :D met the crew at 12 for lunch then at 2 we started doing our hair & makeup. proceeded to the audi after that for some briefing and some of the halls were already rehearsing, and omg it felt so surreal. like, it's tonight.
after stoning ard for an hour or so, we had our final run on stage before the real thing. continued prepping until it was almost time, and then we spent the last few moments marking the steps once again. and omg, it was so freaking close.
when it was finally near our turn, we went down, drank our red bulls, each said some words of encouragement, and WHOOOOOSH here we go! :) and then began my first big dance concert after so many years of my life :D probably the last one too, so i told myself i would leave nothing for regrets.
and you know, that 6 minutes went by so quickly. it was so surreal, and as cheesy as it sounds, it felt like a dream. you know, the moment the lights shine, the moment the music plays, the moment you're up on stage with everyone else after 2 months of hard work, the moment when the audience claps and cheers for you, it's damn amazing. when i left the stage, all i remembered was that instant, that moment.
i was thankful that i wasn't nervous, when i really expected myself to. just like when i went down for polo ivp, just like before my jam band's performance, just like me having my piano exams or before the worship ministry auditions. having God in mind really kept me calm and composed, and allowed me to think clearly and rationally. and despite the tsunami of emotions that came after, i managed to be myself :)
ahhh it's been too long so it's getting difficult to describe the multitude of emotions i felt. but one thing for sure - this would definitely be one of the moments i'll always remember as part of my uni life. and never for once have i regretted joining dance in my final year. :) all the efforts, the time, and sweat paid off, and i've taken an awesome memory back home :D

awx's 23rd b-day concert! :D supposed to accompany 4 pieces that night, 2 with awx's randomly formed band, and another with ying2 and andy each. but andy pangseh-ed and ying2 came too late so all i did was the two songs :X haha. but it's still very awesome! loves awx's bday parties. always very simple and relaxing and there's always 78-ers to catch up with! and haha it was pam's first time coming heh! nd & ying came late :(
oh yes, the mini concert was awesome :) awx has many talented friends who can perform at any bar anytime. made us 78-ers feel real inferior haha. oh and the two songs (how to save a life & you found me by the fray) that was pretty much a constant for the past three years turned out very well for a band that sorta formed on the spot - with me on the piano, awx singing and on the bass, another 2 other guitarists and a guy playing the cajon. can't wait for the video! i screwed up a little but i hope it isn't obvious. :D

paddles & logs! :D after spending the previous day helping fw with the groupings and settling some last minute things, my 2nd adhoc event was finally here! :D gathered at bedok reservoir early in the morning and slacked at the pavilion for quite a bit. kayaking officially began at 9.30 with a safety briefing heh. went down at 10, and then the programmers took over for the games :D
oh yeah almost forgot to mention, three safety kayakers joined us and i realised that two of them were ex-canoepolo players!!! one from sp and the other ntu o.O omg it's a small small world. played with the volleyball we brought down for a bit andden they proceeded a whole day of bullying :/ inclusive of holding my boat and insisting that i paddle to somewhere far! roarssssss.
haha but the kayaking portion was a bit of a flop la. very hard to give instructors and km had a hard time trying to get everyone to listen :P but haha i think for kayaking maybe a lot of people just wanna row around and slack so it didn't matter much. heh.
after kayaking was lunch break! i decided to go look for people that i would possibly know at the sprint area wooots! NJCC was going on and you can't believe how secretly excited i am :P after all it was the comp that contributed to one of my biggest regrets in my canoeing life and whenever i thought of how i got a DNS for that fateful k1 1000m finals i still have that tinge of sadness within me. could have been my first medal. but eh, that was 5 years ago. HAHA. i'm like super old. and when i looked at the races i realised that the scene really has totally changed.
saw kaiwen and got some updates from her! :D she's coaching ac now since she couldn't get along with the hc side either. got to know that the girls are now being coached by mr yong's friend and other non-hc canoeing people and eh, that's really saddening. i liked the fact that all of us were coached by our direct seniors in the past, and because of that i felt that hx and the seniors were all able to understand us and the hc spirit very well, unlike now. ): moreover i tried to spot my juniors too, and it was only at the end of the day i realised that those girls wearing a singlet with a "dragon" behind were actually them o.O omg, i almost forgot they were dragonboating too o.O
aiyah, the whole hwachong canoeing girls thing has changed so much. that connection is now gone, and neither do i feel any love for the current team. ): it's just v sad la.
and another thing, kw says its the norm for double trgs nowadays and because of that the standard has improved tremendously OMG. depressing much. now even if i go back to paddle i'll prob get thrashed real bad. oops.
after that half an hour of talking to kw, went back to find the rest and just nice it was time for forest adventure! but before that was some mini land games which was quite funny to watch hahaha. the lao ren group won and YAY we went first :)
forest adventure was crazy fun :D :D i loved the fact that everything was up to you - your own safety, your route, and there was no need for a belayer and all you need is two little devices to bring you through. the best part was in between sites you're guaranteed a nice zipline hahahaha. the hardest was site two though, walking on the logs was insanely difficult and mentally and physically draining :X i almost wanted to give up! but all the pain was worth it, because in the end we only remembered how great that whole thing is. :D
and yayyy i love my lao ren group! though it could've been much better (with loi & wx & mike & sy & ojj & gf!)

my first meeting with my future edb colleagues! met jovin at the mrt before that in order to face them together first because seriously, i was quite nervous. after all they will be the group of people that i'd be hanging out with for at least the next few years and so it'll be of utmost importance that they're a group of people that i'd be able to get along well. so after adequate mental preparation, i called my buddy and she picked us up from the lift lobby and brought us up to meet the rest.
and before i knew it we were all sitting at the meeting room table getting to know each other through some self introduction o.O haha. the meeting then carried on (and they talked about real serious stuff) and now having seen the work that i'll be doing from sept onwards, i'm starting to get a little scared. like omg will i be able to meet their expectations? will i be able to write the many many reports i'm supposed to do? will i be able to handle lunch meetings with the big bosses well? like seriously, very scary. and i can already imagine how steep my learning curve's going to be :X
after that we had lunch at the hong kong restaurant in raffles city itself :) dimsum! :D got to know my buddy a lot more throughout the lunch and a bit of the other colleagues. one good thing is that they're all very young! 3 86 babies and another 2 who are just slightly older. :) actually, when i first heard how old they were i was seriously shocked... 86 is like the same as my male coursemates can! haha like totally don't look like they're all of the same age. omg.
and oh yes. all very high-flier. like oxford, imperial and embry-riddle. like gosh, i'm from ntu leh!
but yeaps, they look like a fun group of people! and my buddy's very much like me, athletic, avid traveller, and a little high. haha. i foresee that i'd be able to get along with her very well! but you know, i still can't get over the size of the whole aero group. 5 people. like FIVE. can you imagine, this is the number of people who has been planning the whole seletar aerospace park and getting all those big names into singapore! it might not have been the 5 of them but some 5 other seniors or so, but still... FIVE leh. imagine how much difference those 5 in the aero group has made. i'm very impressed :)

collected my jlpt cert and donated some money for the japan disaster fund :) i feel good for being able to help out just that little bit! i wished i had more to give though, like manual labour and stuff. :X
then met my colleagues again and this time we headed to the seletar aero park for a site visit and omg it was quite an eye opener! i didnt know we had to do such site visits and that there was so many things we need to know in order to explain properly to our investors what singapore can offer o.O buddy educated me like super a lot on generally the industry, the direction that singapore's moving to, and how things are implemented and such. it was just.... omg.
there's just so much to learn. i'm excited, but still a little scared. :X
cabbed to tp after that for a canoepolo friendly! super tiring but thank God i didnt regret making my way down :) and i managed to figure out some stuff too and so hopefully i'd be a better player on saturday.

after an afternoon of fyp, waited for yuenling and she sent me to ikea! :D :D yayyyys. wanted her to drop me off at any 198 bus stop but in the end she decided to send me all the way there to pick lance along the way! :) bought 2 packets of meatballs, 6 500ml cans of cider and another big pack of double choc crisps and was insanely happy hahaha.
went over the ps after that for post-p&l celebration! :D ate at swensens with the rest of the comm while chatting over some random stuff -_- sometime later we decided to head to cathay for some b&j's ice cream! :D awesome ttm :)) especially when fw & kiat are the ones paying hahaha.
anyway, i love my p&l comm :) it's good that i got to know some of the freshies better (like wanting! haha and jason, km, weiming) who are crazy fun people. and it was even more surprising when i knew that was so many people who are older than me *coughhuieekmjasoncough*. HAHA 87 babies :D i just hope we'll keep still keep in contact in the future! haha wanting is one funny girl and jason is total un-holy (in wx's terms HAHA). actually i still don't geddit, how is it that jason and i dont look like the kind who goes church weekly while josie does?! hmmmmmm.

after the p&l celebration, headed off for hall 14 straight in preparation for some awesome time hahaha. didn't want to go back hall despite the insane headache because i simply couldn't imagine lugging those bags of meatballs and cans of ciders and walking to 14 from hall :X haha so in the end borrow den's mattress and slept for a good 2 hours and YAY the headache was all gone :)
the night continued with the 5 of us plus one of their hall friends chomping 2kg worth of meatballs (that's about 120 balls by the way), drinking a can of cider each and then more hoegaarden & heineken :) :) haha i'm a total alcoholic and i admit it :P but at least i like to drink beer so i won't get drunk easily! heh.
and OH YES, the highlight of the night hahahahaha. the buggers didn't have any bottle opener in hall and while experimenting various ways to open the beer bottles, herny actually caused one of them to burst and all the foam overflowed in an instant. AND then the very smart him tried to quickly drink them up and ended up with beer all over himself!!! HAHA. the guys went hysterical linking that scene to something very wrong (in which I shall not describe cos it's simply not feminine to do so HAHA) while i was simply laughing at how retarded he actually looked. shucks should have video-ed it and post it on fail blog. HAHA.
and so after finishing the meatballs and having enough alcohol, we decided to hang around den's room (air con plus mattress! shiok) for more games since it was only 3. and since the PS3 only had one controller (means no street fighter ):) and joseph returned his monopoly deal set we ended up playing charadiem -_____- hahahaha what the heck. we played like 3 rounds and by then it was 4 plus and we decided that it was enough heh!
after that den rode me back to hall (after doing a huge detour around ntu hoho)! omg omg omg omg omg omg :D my very first bike ride la hahaha. at first i was a little scared since you know, there's all those scary bike accidents and you're like so exposed without any seatbelts and what-not... but in the end it turned out quite okay! :D i eventually got used to all those turns and stuff and den proved to be a very reliable driver :)) but so funnnnnnnn. hahaha but i still think i'd be very scared if we were to go on a expressway or something. heh.
so by the time i reached hall it was almost 6, and by the time i went to bed it was already 7 o.O haha. but okay la, it was all worth it :D slept for 7 hours andden went to mal for some fyp only to realise that the wind tunnel has been destroyed by some ureka student!!!!! i officially hate all ureka students now. how the heck did that guy make it to the ureka team!?! roars. now i can only pray that it gets fixed FAST. i finally completed my set up can!!!
went back home after that and my mum send me and the various bukitbatok aero students back home heh (ql zq & hh) :D so heng all of us were doing fyp that day! :P

first day of SPCPOC'11. first match with espada which didn't really go very well :X oh well, can only work harder tomorrow.
met the 4g girls for dinner at no. 5 emerald hill after that! for the very reason that we could actually throw peanut shells on the ground we decided to visit it -__- haha. drinks were quite cheap at 8 a pint for house pours before 9pm considering its prime location at orchard road, and the chicken wings were superb. caught up a little with the girls but we were all quite obviously tired/stressed in one way or another so weren't particularly high or what haha. didn't drink much in the first place!
at about 10 we decided to cab to butter fac since les had some guest list thingy which entitles her to free entry together with 4 other friends and so we decided to drop by to make full use of it haha. and all we did was to people watch while sitting at the sofa after that -__- hehhhh. but really bohbian eh, most of us had important stuff the next day so it wasn't a good idea to club. and i'm so glad we had the discipline to not drink! :) haha.
oh yes, butter fac's music is actually quite nice for a time like 10pm. haha comparatively, zouk doesn't play nice songs until 1am. o.O at least that's based on my experience after visiting both places ONCE. i'm super guai :D hehhh.
